Ingredients: 1 pkg yeast 1/2 cup lukewarm water 1 T sugar 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 6-7 cups flour 1 T salt

Directions:Dissolve 1 pkg yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water with 1 T sugar. Let rise for 30 min or until double. Cream 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup sugar and add 1 egg. Add yeast mixture plus 2 cups lukewarm water, 6-7 cups flour, and 1 T salt. Mix until all the flour is worked in. Let rise 2-3 hours and refrigerate. Keeps in refrigerator for 1 week. Make cinnamon rolls or dinner rolls.
Cinnamon Rolls Roll dough out into long rectangle approx 1/4 inch thick. Butter generously and sprinkle a good amount of sugar and cinnamon over the top. Roll lengthwise into a long roll. Cut into 2inch portions. Grease bottom of cake pan with shortening generously and cover with brown sugar. Place rolls @ an inch apart on top of brown sugar. Refrigerate and then set out overnight to rise.
Dinner Rolls Make into balls and place into greased pan @ 1 inch apart. Allow to rise 4 hours. Bake at 425º for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown |
