1/2cup shortening
1/3cup sugar
1 egg
1cup flour
1/4teaspoon salt
1cup oatmeal
1tablespoon butter
1/2cup brown sugar
1teaspoon vanilla
1/2teaspoon baking soda
1/2teaspoon baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
cream shortening, butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well. Add flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix (not completely). Then add oatmeal and fully mix all ingredients. form into 1inch. balls and place on cookie sheet. gently flatten with fork or palm of hand. Bake at 350 for 8-10 min.
