Personal Notes:
Although Grandma Woolley was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana, she married and moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Both my parents and my father's side of the family were born and raised in Kentucky, so naturally, Derby Pie is one of our favorites. It is traditional to bake and serve this pie warm on the day of the Kentucky Derby. Enjoy!
