1/2 head of lettuce (large)
1 c. of chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. of chopped celery
1 can of water chestnuts (chopped)
1 box of frozen peas (cooked)
1 c. of mayo
2 Tbsp. sugar
10 oz. of Cheddar cheese

Spread a layer of each ingredient ending with the cheese Sprinkle sugar on top of mayo. Cover and let sit in refrigerator over night.
