1 cup seedless raisins
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup (1 stick butter or margarine)
1 egg beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup walnut pieces
1 box powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Bring raisins and water to a boil for 5 to 6 minutes until soft. When done make sure there is at least 3/4 cup water. If not, add water to make 3/4 cup. Add margarine (or butter) to the above mixture.

Add above mixture to the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Pour onto a greased sheet cake pan.
Bake 350º for 20 - 25 minutes.

While cookies are baking, mix 1 box powdered sugar with enough water to make a thin icing.

Drizzle warm icing on cookies while they are still warm so it will form a glaze. When cool cut into squares.
