1 beef roast, frozen
1 can cream of mushroom soup (15 oz.) plus 1 can water
1 envelope Onion Soup mix
salt and pepper
garlic powder

Alternative:
Replace cream of mushroom soup with beef broth

Directions:

Cook roast straight from freezer.

Place the roast seasoned with salt and pepper and garlic powder in a pan with the cream of mushroom soup, water and onion soup mix. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 300º for 3 ½ to 4 hours. Alternatively, you can put all ingredients into a crock-pot on low for 8 hours.

When roast is cooked, thicken drippings. Serve with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes with a side of vegetables.

To thicken gravy, add drippings to a small sauce pot on stove and bring to a boil. In a separate bowl combine 1 tsp. of corn starch with enough water to make it smooth and thin. Add this mixture to the boiling gravy and whisk immediately to prevent lumps. Simmer a few minutes until it reaches desired thickness. Strain gravy as desired if you prefer a smooth gravy without bits of onion, mushrooms, meat drippings.
