1 lb. dry pinto beans
2 teaspoons salt
Water
2 cloves garlic
3 pieces bacon, salt port, or ham bone
1 large tomato chopped
2 large jalapino peppers chopped
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1 onion chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Soak beans over night. Cook with salt and garlic covered 3 inches in water for several hours, until beans are tender and you have a rich broth.
Cook tomato, pepper, cilantro, and onion in bacon drippings (or oil) until onions are soft.
Remove garlic from beans and add vegetable mixture.
Cut bacon or ham and add to beans.
Mix well and let set for 15 minutes before serving.
