2 C buttermilk
2 c cake flour
3 large eggs
1 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 t soda
2 tsp sugar
2 T melted butter

beat egg yolks Using whites later, add sugar salt milk and butter mix and then add flour soda baking powder, last fold in stiffly beaten egg whites
Preheat pan on med-med high, lower to med-low. Melt a 1/2 tsp shortening in each cavity, fill pan 2/3 full. can add tsp of applesauce totop of dough, then barely cover with more dough.,cook till bubbly turn over carefully with fork Serve with syrup, butter or jam
