1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. powder sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond or lemon extract (or vanilla)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter

Decorations: granulated sugar for top or frosting for cooled cookies

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and extract. Mix.
Mix dry ingredients together (sifting not necessary, but fun if you have a sifter!) Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and blend well.

Chill for 1-2 hours minimum.

Roll or pat to 1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. Place on lightly greased pan. Bake 7-10 min. at 375º.

Should make 5 dozen 2 inch cookies.
