1/2 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1&1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup milk
2 cups apples, chopped finely
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Pour melted butter into bottom of your baking dish.

In a saucepan, heat sugar and water until dissolved.

Cut shortening into flour until coarse. Add milk and mix with fork just until it leaves the sides of the bowl. Roll onto floured board and knead until smooth. Roll into large rectangle 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle cinnamon on apples. Spread apples on dough. Roll up. Cut into 16 slices. Lay in butter in baking dish. Pour sugar water mixture over the top.

Bake for 30-40 minutes.
