6 large cabbage leaves
1 lb. ground beef
3 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 T. onion, chopped finely
1/2 c. cooked rice
1 c. tomato juice
1 medium onion, sliced
2 T. sugar
2 T. vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Boil cabbage leaves only long enough to soften them. Combine ground beef, 1 tsp.salt, pepper, chopped onions, and rice. Form into 6 meat balls. Wrap each ball in cabbage leaf, and fasten edges with toothpicks. Place in skillet. Add tomato juice, sliced onions, remainder of salt, sugar, and vinegar. Cover and cook over high heat until steaming, then reduce to simmer. Serve at once.
