2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 mashed over-ripe bananas
3 tsp cold water
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together all dry ingredients then add, shortening, eggs, vanilla, bananas and water. Add nuts if desired. Pour into 1 large loaf pan or 2 small loaf pans. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350º F.
