1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/8 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat until thick.
Sift dry ingredients and stir into mixture.
Add nuts, chips, and vanilla.
Drop by half teaspoonfulls 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake.
Time:10 to 12 minutes at 375º.
