1/2 CUP SHORTENING
1/2 CUP BUTTER
CREAM TOGETHER WELL

1 EGG
1 TSP. VANILLA
SALT TO TASTE
2 CUPS FLOUR
1/2 TSP. BAKING SODA
TOUCH OF CREAM OF TARTER
MIX TOGETHER WELL WITH BUTTER MIXTURE.
Directions:
Directions:
MAKE INTO HICKORY NUT SIZE BALLS. ROLL IN SUGAR AND FLATTEN WITH BOTTOM OF GLASS. PLACE ON UNGREASED BAKING SHEET. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 10 MINUTES. DELICATE AND CRISP.
