2 carrots, shredded or sliced
2 onions, diced in small pieces
2 medium potatoes, cubed small
2 large ribs celery, cut in small pieces
2 small or 1 large can Tomato sauce
water, same amount as can size
1 large can Contadina tomatoes, diced
2 tablespoons Gates BBQ sauce (or any brand)
6 Beef bouillon cubes
2 cloves garlic, chopped
4 cups water
1½ pounds stewing beef (any beef cup up, trim off fat)
⅓ cup cooking sherry

Spread out cut up beef on a sheet of wax paper. Sprinkle lightly with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Then sprinkle or sift some flour from sifter over the beef and coat well. Place 2 tablespoons butter in bottom of Dutch oven. Add meat and brown quickly over high heat. Next add all the other ingredients and bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer. Stir to get residue off bottom of pan. Allow to simmer on low for 4 hours. May add hot stuff if you want some fire to your soup!!!
