8-10 apples peeled & sliced
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
Mix sugar, cinnamon, & apples thoroughly.

1 cup butter
1 tbs. sugar
2 ˝ cups flour
2 handfuls of cornflakes
1 egg yolk, add water to make 2/3 cup
1 cup shortening (˝ shortening & ˝ butter)
Pinch of salt

Combine flour, salt, sugar, butter & egg yolk (with water added). Divide dough into 2 parts. Spread one on jelly roll pan. Sprinkle 2 handfuls of cornflakes (or rice krispies) then add apple mixture. Roll top crust & cover. Beat egg white and brush over top. Bake for 1 hour at 350. Drizzle confectioners’ sugar on top. Cut into bars.
*2 cans of pie filling can be used in place of fresh apples & sugar
