1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter or shortening
1/4 cup luke warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 beaten egg
1-1/3 cup flour
1-1/2 cups apple slices
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk, stir in sugar, salt & half of butter or shortening.
Cool to lukewarm.
In a mixing bowl dissolve yeast in warm water.
Stir in lukewarm milk mixture
Add egg & flour beat until smooth.
Spread dough evenly in greased 9x9x inch pan.
Arrange apple slices on top.
Sprinkle with mixture of sugar, cinnamon, & nutmeg.
Dot with remaining butter
Cover let rise in warm place free from draft.until double in size.
Bake in preheated 400º oven for 25 minutes

This is a good cake but it takes time & patients to make it. Very good with vanilla ice cream & a little carmel sauce.
