2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. walnut flavoring
salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix brown sugar, shortening, eggs together. Add the flour and baking soda mixture a cup at a time, mixing between additions. Roll the dough, wrap in wax paper and leave overnite in cold place (refrigerator). Cut off in slices and bake - can leave in ice box and bake pan each day.

Note: Bake at 325 - 350º until light brown.

This is Hazel Brown's recipe. Ralph Brown loved these cookies and Peg Brown tried to make them for him after Hazel's death. They were never quite as good as Hazel's.
