Ingredients:
Ingredients:
frozen apples (sliced MacIntosh apples sufficient to top a 9 inch deep dish pie plate, about 1 tbsp. lemon juice and approx. 1/3 cup sugar, then frozen)
about 1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tbsp. corn starch
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. butter

unbaked pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Place frozen apples, corn starch, water, sugar, cinnamon, butter in skillet. Cook on about medium heat, stirring occasionally until apples are softened and juices are thickened...can add additional water if necessary to get juices so they are about the consistency of gravy...thickened but not thick! Let cool (can still be warm but don't want hot when pour into pie crust). Pour into unbaked crust. Top with either another crust or top with crumb topping.
Bake at 375º for about 45 minutes until crust is done..note that apples are already cooked and thickened so don't have to cook as long as uncooked apples. This comes out really nice.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I found when trying to bake with apples that had been frozen, they tended to not cook well and were somewhat rubbery....when I precooked in skillet, it came out "just right!!!"
