2 1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 C (2 sticks) butter room temperature
1 C sugar
1/2 C packed light brown sugar
2 T vanilla
2 large eggs
8 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1 C coarsely chopped dried sweet cherries

Directions:

Heat oven to 350. Combine dry ingredients and set aside. Beat together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour mixture at low speed. Stir in chocolate and cherries. Scoop by rounded tablespoons onto baking sheet. Bake until brown, about 14 minutes. Let cookies rest for 3 minutes on cookie sheet transfer to racks to completely cool.

We like using fresh cherries. Also, when we ran out of chips we shaved Abula chocolate bars and it also was good.
