1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 t. soda
1/2 t. cinnamon
1 1/2 cups chopped candied cherries (red and green)
1 cup chopped candied pineapple
1/2 cup chopped candied orange peel
1 cup chopped dates
3 cups chopped pecans

Directions:

Combine butter and sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs, buttermilk, flour, soda and spices; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 30 about 18 minutes. Makes about 8 dozen.
