1 Cup Shortening or Butter
2 Cups Sugar
2 1/4 Cups all purpose Flour
6 Eggs
Juice of one Lemon
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Dash of Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Use mixer and cream together shortening and sugar.
Sift and then measure flour.
Add alternately flour and eggs, one at a time.
Add lemon juice, vanilla, and salt.
Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes in a greased and floured tube cake pan at 312º.
Let cool slightly in pan and then turn out on cake rack.
