1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1/2 c. Herman
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. quick oats
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add butter, milk and eggs. Mix well. Stir in Herman. Sift salt, allspice, flour, soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix into shortening mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes.
