1 pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate or devil's food cake mix*
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Jell-O brand chocolate or chocolate fudge flavor Instant Pudding and Pie filling
4 eggs
1 c. water
1/4 c. oil

*Or use pudding-included cake mix and reduce water to 3/4 c.

Combine all ingredients in large mixer bowl. Blend; then beat at medium speed of electric mixer for 4 minutes. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350º for 40-45 minutes, or until cake springs back when lightly pressed and cake begins to pull away from sides of pan. DO NOT UNDERBAKE. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan and finish cooling on rack. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar, if desired.
