1 can (20 oz.) sliced pineapple
1/3 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
13 whole maraschino cherries
1 1/4 c. C.W. Post Hearty Granola Cereal (plain or with raisins)
1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix or pudding-included cake mix

Directions:
Directions:
Drain pineapple, reserving 2 Tbsp. juice. Melt butter in 9x13-inch pan; stir in sugar. Arrange pineapple slice and cherries in sugar mixture. Sprinkle with reserved pineapple juice and 3/4 c. cereal.

Prepare cake mix as directed on package, stirring remaining cereal into batter. Pour carefully over fruit mixture in pan. Bake at 350º for 50-55 mins. or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Then invert onto serving platter or tray and let stand 1 minute before removing pan. Serve warm with prepared whipped topping, if desired.
