¼ C Butter, softened
¾ C Sugar
4 Eggs
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/8 Tsp Salt
3 ½ C Flour
1 Tbsp Baking Powder
¾ C Slivered Almonds
1 Tsp Anise

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, add sugar, then eggs-one at a time, beating 1 minute each egg. Add vanilla, salt & ½ cup flour. Blend in remaining flour and baking powder, blend well, add almonds and anise. Beat until well blended, dough should be light.Divide dough into 4’s and form each into 18’’ rolls. Place each on a greased & floured sheet. Brush top with milk or cream. Bake at 400* about 20 – 25 minutes or until firm & golden brown.
Cool. Place rolls on cutting board and slice ½’’ thick. Place on ungreased sheet and toast at 400* for 15 – 20 minutes turning once. Let cool, then roll in powdered sugar and store in air tight container. Can be stored for 1 week or 1 month if frozen
