3 1/2 cups flour 1 egg
3 tsp. baking soda 2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp ginger 1 cup molasses
1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 cup melted shortening
1/2 tsp. cloves 1 cup flour mixture
1/2allspice 1/4 cup cold water
1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/4 cup vinegar

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients together. Beat egg, sugar, molasses, melted shortening.
.Add : 1 cup of flour mixture

Combine and add: cold water and vinegar.

Add remaining flour mixture. Mix well. Drop by tablespoons on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 12-15 minutes.

These were our favorite after school snack. Just wanted to go make a batch as I was typing the recipe but it is nearly 11:00PM.
