Directions:Squeeze the sausage from the casing of one Italian Sausage into a medium pot over high heat. Using a spatula mince meat until fine. Add minced garlic cloves. Reduce heat to low and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sliced mushrooms. Mince one row (1 ounce) of pepperoni and add to the pot. Increase heat to medium and push aside the sausage, mushroom, and pepperoni mixture to one side of pot. Brown the rest of your Italian sausages (left inside of casing) on the other side of the pot. Add 3 jars of Italian Sauce to pot. Add small can of tomato paste. Add spices, sugar and cheese. Cover and barely simmer over low heat. Add Joey’s meatballs to sauce. Cover and simmer. Stir frequently. The sauce is better if cooks several hours and sits overnight in the refrigerator. |
