1 lb. lean ground beef
1 egg
1/4 t. ground pepper
1 t. Lawry's Seasoned Salt
1/2 t. paprika
1/2 t. crushed basil leaves
1/2 t. crushed oregano leaves
1 T. parsley flakes
2 end pieces bread (torn in small pieces)
1 med. onion (chopped)
1 28 oz. can Trader Joe's unsalted whole/peeled plum tomatoes w/ basil
couple shakes nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 350º Mix all ingredients using 3/4 of the tomatoes in large bowl, reserving remainder and juice. Form into tubular loaf and place in oblong baking dish (8"x10"). Arrange remainder of the reserved tomato pieces on top and around baking dish. Pour all of the reserved tomato juice around the baking dish. Shake generous amounts of additional paprika and parsley flakes over tomatoes on top of meat loaf. Bake for 1 hour uncovered.

Velma (Sis) was Nancy and Dorothy's cousin. Sis's mother (who was Nancy's Aunt Bessie) and her grandmother (who was Elizabeth) were sisters. Sis and Dorothy were very close and in each other's weddings.
