1 c. (1/2 lb.) butter or marg. (butter is absolutely the best!)
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 lb. currents or raisins.(1 c.)
Optional additions - nuts, choc. chips, dried cranberries

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour. Add currants/raisins and optional additions as desired. Allow to settle and cool for 1/2 hour before baking on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º F 15-20 minutes to a very soft golden brown on the edges.

I got this recipe from an adult friend/neighbor who was from Switzerland when I was in High School and doing a research project for Home Economics about food from different lands. I choose my grandparents native land to research and made these wonderful cookies!!
