Memory from NaeDean Salvesen, Granddaughter of Ivan:
One of my favorite Bruderer star stories is after my brother Layton Funk's auto-accident. After weeks of recovery in the University Hospital it was finally Christmas time (2008). Layton's back was getting many reconstruction procedures. We were frustrated with the difficult communication circumstances. Grandpa Ivan sent several of his homemade stars. We ended up hanging them up above Layton's bed and decorated the room.
We were able to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas in a very difficult time.
