2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1.5 teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2-3 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375° F.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

(If you want to take these to the next level, chop your own chips! Find your favorite chocolate and chop 12-18oz into chunks. The resulting tiny flakes and dust will make the dough a bit chocolatey and it's amazing. But a lot of work so store-bought chips are fine too!)

This recipe is adapted from the Tollhouse recipe which Erin and I perfected at the Camp in a bake-off with Paul. We named ours Definitely Yes! - you can see we were early believers in a strong marketing campaign. Now I make these yearly for the cookie party. And any other time that I can find an excuse to make them.
