8 lbs of pickle cucumbers
1 pint of salt
1 gallon of boiling water
3 quarts boiling vinegar
6 cups sugar
2 tbps cinnamon bark
1/2 tsp of Celery seed

Directions:
Directions:
8 lbs of pickles, pour 1 pint of salt and 1 gallon of boiling water, let stand 5 days. Drain--pour boiling water over and let stand 24 hours. Drain cut into cubes and pour boiling water with 1 tbsp of powder alum and let stand 24 hours. Drain, dry, and pour 3 quarts boiling vinegar with 6 cups sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon bark, 1/2 teaspoon of celery seed. Heat the vinegar for the next 3 mornings adding 1 c sugar each time. Split each pickle- no matter how small or they will wither.
