1 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. white Karo
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup nuts
3 cups Rice Krispies
coconut or powdered sugar

Directions:
Cook the first five ingredients over low heat about 10 minutes. Add the nuts and Rice Krispies. Roll in small balls, then in coconut or powdered sugar.

This is a favorite family recipe usually made at Christmas. We wrap the balls individually in plastic wrap and tie the opening with curling ribbon. Keep in a tin. Would make a great gift.
