1 cup shortening
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup confectionery sugar
2 cups sifted flour
2 cups finely chopped nuts
2 cups confectionery sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening with salt and vanilla.Add 1/2 cup confectionery sugar gradually and cream well.Sift in flour;add chopped nuts.Shape the stiff dough in to little balls,slightly larger than marbles.Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.Remove from oven and quickly but gently roll hot ball in confectionery sugar.This forms a frosting like coating over the cookies.Cool then roll the balls in the sugar again.Store in air tight container.
