Personal Notes:
We have been having this salad at Grandma and Grandpa's (Delbert and Marian's) Thanksgiving for as far back as I can remember. When I was young, Grandma would have all the kids sit on the stairs and eat because our family was getting too big for her old farmhouse. One of my fondest childhood memories is sitting on those stairs with 30 of my cousins all enjoying a home-cooked meal. Grandma's house always smelled so good at Thanksgiving!
