1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 large egg
2c. to 2-1/4c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream toghether the butter and sugar. Blend in the egg
Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the butter and sugar mixture, add the vanilla and mix well. Once combined divide the dough in two parts. Chill for 1 to 2 hours so it will be easy to work with . Roll out and cut with cookie cutters. You can also slice into rounds. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned on the edges. Cool and add icing if desired.
