4 lbs pork back ribs, salted and peppered, membrane removed
1 cup water
2/3 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp dry (or regular) mustard

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the ribs slowly in a skillet. Remove ribs to a large baking dish or roaster. Pour the fat from the skillet, then add the water, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar and mustard. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring. Pour the sauce over the ribs and bake, covered for 1 1/2 hours at 350º. Add water as necessary to keep the ribs from burning.
