2 tbsp butter
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
8 oz can pineapple slices, drained and halved
4 maraschino cherries, halved

Cake:
1 1/3 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a 9-inch round baking pan. Stir in sugar and 1 tbsp water. Arrange pineapple and cherries in the pan.

In a bowl combine flour, sugar and baking powder. Add milk, butter, egg and vanilla. Beat on low speed until combined. Spoon batter into the pan.

Bake in a 350ºF oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Loosen sides; invert onto a plate. Serve warm.
