1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
15 oz pumpkin
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
grated zest of 1 orange
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease two baking sheets, or line them with parchment paper.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices in a medium bowl.

In a separate bowl, beat together the butter and sugars. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, and beat briefly, just until smooth. And the pumpkin, eggs, vanilla, and orange zest, beating to blend. Slowly add the dry ingredients, beating to blend. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.

Using a cookie scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake them on the middle rack for about 18 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Remove the cookies from the oven, and let them cool on the baking sheets 5 minutes before transferring them to racks.
