Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 tsp salt
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Use teaspoon and roll into a ball, dip in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Take a fork, and flatten top of cookie, making a hash tag across top. Cook at 375 for about 10 minutes. I watch these, as I like them just slightly undercooked, so they are a little chewy. If cooked well, they are more like a ginger snap and are crunchy. Good either way!

Personal Notes:
Another one of my grandmother Poulin's recipes! Molasses cookies are always good! Another one of Rick's favorites!
