Pies: 1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 egg yolks (keep whites for filling)
5 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Filling:
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups confectionary sugar
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Pies: Cream shortening and sugar; add egg yolks, mix. Take dry ingredients and mix together in separate bowl and add alternately with 1 cup milk and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet; Cook 375 for 10 - 12 min. Let cool on cookie rack and then fill 2 pies with filling.
Filling: Mix filling ingredients together; can add a little more sugar is too thin. Put between 2 pies.
