Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2- 3 lbs ground pork for 2 pies
1/2 to 1 tsp each cloves, cinnamon and allspice; or more to taste (1/2 for 1 pie; 1 for 2)
1 med onion,
4 small or 2 medium cooked and mashed potatos
salt & pepper
Double pie crust recipe x 2

Directions:
Directions:
:Put pork in saucepan and cook till meat is browned; drain. Add enough water almost to the top of the meat - add onion and spices; put on low and simmer about 3 hours. Before I put mashed potatoes into meat mixture, I drain off some of the liquid, trying first to get the fat off the top. Save a little liquid on the side in case you need to add a little back (if it seems too dry). Mix mashed potatoes into the meat mixture, and put into pie shell and bake @ 425 till crust in brown. (You can also keep tasting it while cooking in the saucepan till you like the flavor.)

Number Of Servings: 2 pies

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You can half the recipe for one pie; or I make 2 and freeze one before I bake it. Then thaw it out and bake as usual. I always put a little milk on the top of my crust before it goes in the over as it helps it to get a nice brown color! Either you like it or you don't! Having grown up with it every Christmas, I love meat pie!!
