1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup butter flavor crisco
2 eggs
1/4 cup light corn syrup or reg. pancake syrup
1 tbsp vanilla
3 cups allpurpose flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

heat oven to 375º
combine sugar and butter flavor crisco in lrg. bowl, beat at med.
speed until well blended, add eggs, syrup and vanilla, beat well
combine 3 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, add
gradually to creamed mixture at low speed, mix until well blended
divide dough into quarters ( tip if dough is too sticky/soft to roll,
wrap each quarter of dough with plastic wrap. refrig 1 hr. keep
refrig. until ready to roll)
spread 1 tbsp of flour on lrg. sheet of wax paper
place a quarter of dough on floured paper, flatten dough slighty,
turn over and cover with another sheet of wax paper, roll dough to
1/4 inch thickness, cut out with floured cutter, transfer to
ungreased baking sheet, 2 inches apart, sprinkle with decors
bake at 375º for 5-9 mins., cool 2 mins. on baking sheet
