1 cup Raisins
1 cup Water
3/4 cup Shortening
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
3 cups Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Cloves
2 cups Rolled Oats
1/2 cup Chopped Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer raisins and water for 20-30 minutes until plump, then drain & save liquid. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs & vanilla until creamy then add 1/2 raisin liquid. Add in flour, salt, soda, baking powder, soda & spices. Add oats, raisins & fold in nuts. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350º or until golden brown.
