1 cup sour cream ( I use outdated whipping cream )
2 tbsp lard
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 large egg unbeaten
2-3 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Pour sour cream in pot and bring to boil. Remove from heat and add lard, salt, sugar and baking soda. Cool until lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in water ( about 10 minutes) Add to sour cream mixture, mix. Add egg and 1 cup flour and mix. Gradually add rest of flour until you have a soft dough. Let rise 15 minutes. Roll out into a rectangle (about 6x24 inches) . Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and cinnamon. Fold in half lengthwise cut in 1 inch strips and twist. Let rise 20 minutes and bake in 350º oven until lightly browned. Spread with icing while warm .
