Mix 1/2 cup cocoa with 3/8 cup cornstarch or flour, and 3/8 cup sugar. To 5 well beaten egg yolks add 3/4 cup sugar and 3/8 tsp salt. Stir the two mixtures together. Then stir in about 5 cups of milk and cook until thick. Add in vanilla to taste.
