2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter-flavored shortening
1 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. malted milk powder
2 tbsp. chocolate syrup
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 1/2 c. semisweet chocolate chunks
1 c. milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with aluminum foil or parchment. In small bowl, whisk together first three ingredients; set aside. In large bowl with electric mixer, beating until thoroughly combined. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips.
Scoop batter by heaping tablespoons; roll into 2-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake 12-14 minutes, until golden brown, reversing baking sheets halfway through. Cool 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool. Makes about 4 dozen.
