1 ham bone (saved from ham dinner) or smoked ham hock
1 pkg. dried cannellini beans
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp. fresh rosemary, finely chopped
4 tbsp. olive oil
1 clove crushed garlic
salt and pepper
1 bunch of fresh Swiss chard or 7 oz. pkg. frozen

Rinse beans thoroughly. Combine onion and rosemary in heavy pan with oil and saute over high heat. Once onions are tender and 1 qt. of water, ham bone, and beans. Boil until beans are tender, add more water if needed. Remove ham bone and cut off any remaining meat.. Dice meat and put back in pot. Add Swiss chard. Season with salt and pepper. Tear bread into large pieces, pour beans and greens over bread. Allow to soak into bread for about 30 to 45 minutes before serving.
