12 lbs Chop Suey meat

3 lbs onions, chopped

3 stalks celery, chopped

1 jar bead molasses

3 cans bean sprouts, drained and rinsed

1 small bottle soy sauce

2 cans water chestnuts, sliced

1 to 2 lbs fresh mushrooms, sliced

Sugar to taste

2 cups cold water

½ cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cut onions and celery very large. Put in a large kettle; add enough water so they don’t burn. Boil, covered, keep adding a little more water if necessary.
Fry the meat till brown, add to kettle with onion and celery making sure you add some hot water to the frying pan to get all the brown drippings from the pan, add to the kettle.
Add three cans of bean sprouts, drained, and bottle of soy sauce, and about 2 quarts of water or enough to cover, simmer till meat is tender.
Add the sliced mushrooms the last 15 minutes.
Stir the 2 cups water and ½ cup flour until smooth; add the jar of bead molasses. Stir mixture into meat mixture. Mix well.
Add sugar to taste.
Serve with rice, and/or Chow mein noodles.
